Bear Feet® Shoes
are really shaped like bare feet.
That’s how they got their name. We use a non-lasted system to
manufacture Bear Feet. We want our leather uppers to mold gently to the
shape of children’s feet rather than force their feet to conform to a
particular last shape. Our unique low-tech construction allows feet
substantial natural movement so that young muscles may fully develop and
new bones grow straight. Stiff shoes bind and force feet into contorted
shapes. Bear Feet are soft and allow plenty of room for toes to wiggle
and grow strong.
The soles of children’s shoes should be very flexible. Some brands of
“natural” shoes have hard fiber, cork or thick rigid rubber soles.
Children lack sufficient body weight to flex these soles. You can test
flexibility by trying to touch the heel of a shoe to its toe.
Bear Feet are truly flexible!
We use pigskin and cotton linings for breath-ability and durability.
Pigskin provides optimal ventilation to help keep feet dry and healthy.
Bear Feet breathe naturally.
